Accessibility Statement

Last updated: October 2026

Legal framework (microenterprise exemption)

The Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz (BFSG) (German Accessibility Strengthening Act) entered into force on 28 June 2025 and, in principle, also covers services in electronic commerce provided via websites and apps. Wunderbar Alt is operated by Olaf Scholtka as a sole proprietor (a microenterprise within the meaning of § 2 Nr. 17 BFSG: fewer than 10 employees and no more than €2 million in annual turnover or annual balance sheet total). The microenterprise exemption under § 3 Abs. 3 BFSG therefore applies to the service we offer; the substantive accessibility requirements of the BFSG are accordingly not binding on us.

Irrespective of this, accessibility matters to us — precisely because our offering is aimed at older people. We voluntarily strive to design our website and app to be as barrier-free as possible. This statement is therefore a voluntary self-commitment, not a legally required declaration of conformity.

Status of accessibility

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, level AA, serve as a point of orientation. The website has been designed according to these principles from the outset (including keyboard operability, sufficient contrast, semantic structure, ARIA markup, “skip to main content”, and consideration for reduced motion). A complete, independently documented proof of conformity is not available and, owing to the microenterprise exemption, is not required.

Content not yet fully accessible

  • The complete review of the mobile app on all devices has not yet been finished.
  • Machine translations into some languages may still need linguistic refinement.
