General Terms and Conditions

Last updated: October 2026

⚠️ Important notice: Wunderbar Alt is not a medical product. The app does not replace medical advice or professional care. Wunderbar Alt is not an emergency service. The call is only made when you tap it yourself, and only the family members selected for emergency alerts are notified — if none are selected, no one is. If your life is in danger, always call the emergency number yourself (in Germany 112).

§ 1 Scope

These General Terms and Conditions apply to the use of the Wunderbar Alt app and the associated services between the provider (Wunderbar Alt, owner Olaf Scholtka, Greven) and the user.

§ 2 Description of services

Wunderbar Alt is a mobile application for organizing and coordinating the everyday life of older people. The app enables, among other things:

  • Management of medication schedules and intake reminders
  • Appointment management and reminders
  • Communication between seniors, family members, everyday companions, and cleaning staff
  • Wellbeing tracking and notifications
  • Shopping lists and note functions

§ 3 Not a medical product

Wunderbar Alt is expressly not a medical device within the meaning of Verordnung (EU) 2017/745 (MDR) (EU Medical Device Regulation) and not an emergency service. The app serves exclusively for organization and coordination. Medical decisions must not be made solely on the basis of app data.

Depending on the selected function, the emergency button in the app either opens the phone app with the official emergency number — the call is only made when the user taps it themselves — or notifies the family members selected for emergency alerts; if none are selected, no one is notified. If life is in danger, the user must always call the emergency number themselves (in Germany 112).

§ 4 Registration and user account

Registration is required for use. The user undertakes:

  • To provide true and complete information
  • To keep access credentials confidential
  • To report misuse without delay
  • Not to use the app for illegal purposes

§ 5 Subscriptions and prices

Wunderbar Alt offers free and paid plans. Paid subscriptions are concluded and billed via the Google Play Store; Google's terms additionally apply. Prices can be viewed on the website and in the app. Subscriptions can be cancelled at any time via the Google account with effect from the end of the billing period. Google's refund terms as well as mandatory statutory provisions apply to refunds. A right of withdrawal exists in accordance with the Withdrawal Policy.

§ 6 Data protection and health data

Wunderbar Alt processes health data (including, among other things, medication and wellbeing) exclusively with the user's explicit consent. Details are governed by the Privacy Policy.

§ 7 Account deletion

The user can delete their account in the app at any time: as a senior via Gear icon → “My Settings” → “Help & account” → “Delete account”, in any other role via Gear icon → “Settings”, section “Account” → “Delete account”. Upon deletion, all personal data is irrevocably removed.

§ 8 Availability

We strive for high availability of the app but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. Maintenance work will be announced where possible.

§ 9 Liability

(1) The provider is liable without limitation for damages resulting from injury to life, body, or health that are based on a breach of duty by the provider, as well as for other damages based on intent or gross negligence on the part of the provider.

(2) In cases of simple negligence, the provider is liable only for the breach of an essential contractual obligation (cardinal obligation) — that is, an obligation whose fulfilment is a prerequisite for the proper performance of the contract in the first place and on whose observance the user regularly relies. In this case, liability is limited to the damage typical for the contract and foreseeable at the time the contract was concluded.

(3) In all other respects, the provider's liability is excluded. Liability under the Produkthaftungsgesetz (German Product Liability Act) remains unaffected.

(4) For clarification: Wunderbar Alt is not an emergency service (§ 3). The user must not rely on app notifications and reminders (e.g. medication reminders) as their sole safeguard.

§ 10 Changes to these Terms

Changes to these Terms will be communicated to the user in text form (e.g. by email or in-app message) at least six weeks before they take effect. If the user does not object before the changes take effect, the changes are deemed to have been accepted; the notification will separately point out this consequence and the right to object. The user may terminate the contract before the changes take effect.

§ 11 Applicable law and final provisions

The law of the Federal Republic of Germany applies; mandatory consumer protection provisions of the state in which the user habitually resides remain unaffected. Should any provision be invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions remains unaffected.
